This coastal new build for a family of 4 was a dream to be a part of. Starting from scratch is not always as easy as it seems as the possibilities are endless. Understated with touches of color and pattern were what we aimed for, ensuring the styles chosen did not loose their luster years later. Family and dog friendly, this home is comfortable and stylish and has the ability stand the test of time.
This home needed some serious TLC when we bough it in 2012. The pink laminate counter tops, black and gold bath tub off the kitchen and carpeted bedroom connecting to the garage did not make for a comfortable or stylish abode. Bit by bit, we have tackled rooms to create a much more “us” space, for our growing family. The list of what we want to do never seems to get shorter, but every day we are able to fall in love more and more with what we’ve created around us.
Before moving into a new home, this family wanted to freshen up and put their mark on their new living space. In addition to new airy paint colors throughout, the dining room was wallpapered. Modern, classic lighting fixtures replaced the old, outdated ones in the dining room and foyer, along with a new stair runner. A mudroom closet was reverted into a beautiful bulit-in with seating and storage cubbies.
New lighting and fresh paint was number 1 and 2 on this clients mind when they moved into their new house. Mixed with a new kitchen island and some fun tile, we were able to transform a dated home into a bright new beginning.

Like lots of people, I’m drawn to a few different styles and it’s hard to know when to pull what together! You don’t need to label yourself or your style, and it’s nice to know what you like and don’t like, but don’t be afraid to be open to new ideas.
